What it means for businesses: The $380B valuation and $14B revenue validate enterprise AI as a category with real revenue. 80% of Anthropic's revenue comes from enterprise customers. Businesses can invest in Anthropic integrations with confidence in the company's stability.

China's AI Giants Release a Wave of New Models (Feb 14–17)

  • ByteDance: Seedance 2.0 (image-to-video, text-to-video) and Doubao 2.0 (AI chatbot matching ChatGPT/Gemini in reasoning).

  • Alibaba: Qwen 3.5 — processes text, images, and video (up to 2 hours). Also released RynnBrain for robotic physical-world comprehension.

  • Kuaishou: Kling 3.0 — photorealistic video generation, up to 15 seconds, with native multilingual audio.

  • Moonshot AI is pursuing a $10 billion valuation, backed by Alibaba and Tencent.

What it means for you: Powerful AI video and image generation tools are becoming free or low-cost. More competitive options for AI assistants are emerging globally.

What it means for businesses: AI video generation is reaching production quality. Companies in video, marketing, and content creation should evaluate these tools. Alibaba's RynnBrain signals advancing AI in manufacturing and logistics automation.

This Week's Problem: You're Making Decisions You Already Know the Answer To

You're sitting on 3–4 decisions right now. You already know what the right move is. But you haven't pulled the trigger because you're hoping for more data, more certainty, more permission. That's not analysis. That's avoidance.

This prompt takes 5 minutes. It forces you to name the decisions you're stalling on — and face what's actually holding you back.

The Prompt — Copy Everything Below

You are a direct, no-nonsense decision clarity advisor. Your job is to help me stop overthinking and take action on decisions I've been avoiding. You will only use information I provide. Do not assume, invent, or speculate about my situation.

RULES:
- Ask me questions before giving advice. Do not skip ahead.
- Do not give generic advice. Every response must reference what I specifically told you.
- If something is unclear, say "I need you to clarify..." — do not guess.
- Be direct. If I'm avoiding something, say so.
- Keep your responses concise. No filler.

STEP 1: THE STALL LIST
Ask me: "What are 3 decisions you've been putting off? Big or small — anything that's been sitting on your plate longer than it should. For each one, tell me what the two options are and how long you've been sitting on it."

Wait for my response before continuing.

STEP 2: THE HONEST CHECK
For each decision I listed, ask me one at a time:
"If you had to decide right now — no more research, no more opinions — what would you choose?"

Wait for each answer before moving to the next.

STEP 3: THE BLOCK
After I've answered, tell me what you notice. For each decision where my gut answer was clear, ask: "You already know. What's actually stopping you?" Wait for my response.

STEP 4: THE 24-HOUR COMMITMENT
Based on everything I've told you, give me:
- Which decisions I should execute in the next 24 hours (and the exact first action)
- Which one genuinely needs more information (and what specific information I need — not more "thinking about it")
- What I need to stop telling myself to move forward

End with: "You already had the answer. Now you have no excuse."

Begin with Step 1 now.

One tool. One problem it solves. No fluff.

OpenClaw — The AI Agent That Doesn't Wait for You to Ask

What it is: OpenClaw is a free, open-source AI agent that runs locally on your machine. Unlike chatbots that wait for your questions, OpenClaw connects to your messaging apps and takes action — shell commands, file management, browser automation, email, calendar.

Who created it: Peter Steinberger, an Austrian software engineer who previously built PSPDFKit (used by Apple, Dropbox, SAP). He bootstrapped it for a decade, sold his shares after Insight Partners invested $116M, and turned to AI agents.

Why it's trending: On February 15, Sam Altman announced OpenAI hired Steinberger to lead "the next generation of personal agents." OpenClaw hit 200,000 GitHub stars in 84 days — the fastest-growing software repository in GitHub history. It reached 100K stars in approximately 2 days. For comparison: React took ~8 years. Linux took ~12 years.

What it does:

  • Heartbeat Engine: Checks a task list every 30 minutes and acts without you prompting it. Proactive, not reactive.

  • Persistent Memory: Remembers your preferences, context, and conversation history across sessions. Gets more useful over time.

  • 100+ AgentSkills: Execute shell commands, manage files, automate browsers, handle email and calendar. It can write its own skills based on your instructions.

  • 12+ Messaging Platforms: WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal, iMessage. Works in group chats.

  • Model-Agnostic: Use Claude, GPT, Gemini, or free local models via Ollama.

How to access it: openclaw.ai — MIT license, fully open-source. Self-hosted is free (you pay $5–30/month for the AI model API). OpenClaw Cloud starts at $39/month with everything included.

Why it matters: OpenClaw shifts AI from "tool you open" to "coworker that runs in the background." The fact that OpenAI hired its creator tells you where AI agents are heading.

The AI conversation everyone’s having - and what it actually means for you.
What Your Feed Won't Tell You

The Viral Post: "Something Big Is Happening" —80 Million Views

Matt Shumer, cofounder and CEO of OthersideAI, published a 5,000-word essay titled "Something Big Is Happening" on February 10. It has surpassed 80 million views on X.

His argument: On February 5, OpenAI released GPT-5.3-Codex and Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6 on the same day. Shumer called this the moment "everything before felt like a different era." He cited OpenAI's own documentation describing GPT-5.3-Codex as "the first model that was instrumental in creating itself." He compared the moment to "bigger than Covid."

The backlash was immediate. Gary Marcus published a Substack rebuttal calling the essay "weaponized hype" with "not a shred of actual data." He pointed out the benchmark Shumer cited measures 50% accuracy on coding tasks only — not general task completion. Bloomberg's editorial board wrote that "the AI panic ignores something important — the evidence."

Shumer later told CNBC he would have "framed some parts differently" but stood by the core thesis.

The real tension: the gap between what AI researchers say (incremental, benchmark-specific progress) and what the public absorbs (AI is building itself and coming for your job) is widening. This essay became the flashpoint.
